The Amity Heritage Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Amity Township area history. The mission of AHS is to collect, preserve and disseminate information about our local heritage.

Our headquarters, the former Fairview Chapel located on Route 422 and Fairview Chapel Road in Exeter Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, contains numerous historical items, records, documents and artifacts.

Amity Heritage Society provides several services including genealogical research, photographic reproductions, and research of historical homes and structures in the area that we serve.
Thank you for visiting our site; we appreciate your interest.

If you need additional information about the services we offer, or have any general historical questions about our area, contact us at amityhs@hotmail.com.

Please be aware that the society's mailing address has changed. Please make a note of this.

Just a reminder that our "Donate A Slate Campaign" to finance our roof repair fundraiser is currently underway. For more details on how you can help, click here. Keep in mind that all donations to AHS are fully tax deductible.

Our next public meeting will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at 1:30 at the Fairview Union Sunday School. Parking is available across the street from the chapel. This meeting will continue presenting the history of Monocacy Village and nearby Monocacy Furnace, discussing the original property owners and buildings in the Village as well as the Monocacy Furnace’s later years and how and when it came to its end.
